Alum Crystals

NLRP3 Inflammasome Inducer

Alum crystals has been demonstrated to activate caspase-1 and trigger IL-1β and IL-18 secretion [1]. The alum-induced release of IL-1β in macrophages is dependent on NALP3 and ASC, indicating that alum triggers inflammation through activation of the NALP3 inflammasome [2].
