Monoclonal human IgA2 antibodies against E. coli β-galactosidase
InvivoGen offers two human monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting E. coli β-galactosidase (β-Gal):
- Human IgA2 Control, a mono-glycosylated anti-β -Gal-hIgA2 alternative.
These antibodies are provided as isotype controls for InvivoGen’s IgA2 mAb collection (see below).
Both mAbs features the constant region of the human IgA2 isotype and the variable region of Mouse IgG2a Control (clone: T9C6) targeting E. coli β-Gal. Therefore, they do not react with human targets.
They were generated by DNA immunization with different plasmids expressing the β-Gal gene in Swiss mice using recombinant technology, produced in Chinese ovary hamster (CHO) cells, and purified by affinity chromatography.Back to the top

- The absence of binding of Human IgA2 Control and Anti-β-Gal-hIgA2 to human cell lines has been controlled using flow cytometry.
- The absence of endotoxins and other bacterial contaminants has been confirmed using HEK-Blue™ TLR4 and HEK-Blue™ TLR2 cells.

The human IgA2 is found predominantly in secretory lymphoid tissues, where it plays a critical role in mucosal immunity. It is highly resistant to enzymatic degradation by bacterial proteases, due to a short hinge region. IgA2 displays no complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and low antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC).Back to the top
