A mammalian expression plasmid encoding an ASC::GFP fusion protein 


pSELECT-ASC-GFP are mammalian expression vectors designed for the expression of the human or murine ASC genes fused to the green fluorescent protein (GFP). These plasmids are selectable in bacteria and mammalian cells with Zeocin™.

pSELECT-ASC-GFP plasmids contain two expression cassettes. The first delivers strong and constitutive expression of hASC::GFP or mASC::GFP. The second drives the zeocin-resistance gene (Sh ble) that allows the selection of stable transfectants (and selection in bacteria). Both cassettes are terminated with a strong polyadenylation signal that separates the two expression cassettes thus preventing any transcription interference.

In transfected cells equipped with inflammasome components, ASC::GFP expression enables the visual monitoring of ASC specks, a hallmark of inflammasome activation .

The same plasmid is available with the GFP gene alone as a control (pSELECT-CGFP-zeo).
