Anti-hVEGF isotype family

The anti-hVEGF isotype family features the variable region of bevacizumab. Bevacizumab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets VEGF, a signaling protein that promotes the growth of new blood vessels. Bevacizumab neutralizes VEGF and blocks its interaction with the VEGF receptor thus inhibiting downstream pathways that regulate cell growth and angiogenesis.

Antibodies of the anti-hVEGF isotype family have been generated by recombinant DNA technology. They have been produced in CHO cells and purified by different types of affinity chromatography: protein G for IgG1 and IgG4 and peptide M for IgA2.
